WHAT IS THE AVIAN FLU

WHAT IS THE AVIAN FLU

WHAT IS THE AVIAN FLU

  • Bird flu is a disease caused by avian influenza A viruses that usually spread between birds, not people.
  • One sub-type of bird flu, caused by avian influenza  A(H5) virus, is spreading worldwide in wild birds and causing sporadic  outbreaks in U.S. poultry and dairy cows. In addition to spreading to an  increasing number of mammals, H5 bird flu has caused some rare human  infections.
  • The current public health risk is low for H5 bird  flu, and CDC is watching the situation carefully and working with states  to monitor people with exposures to animals that are infected or  potentially infected with avian influenza A viruses.

WHAT IS THE AVIAN FLU

  • In February 2022, USDA ANNOUNCED  outbreaks in poultry facilities.  Marking the first HPAI A virus detection in commercial poultry in the United States since 2020.
  • Since February 2022, additional H5N1 bird flu outbreaks have been identified in poultry, including both commercial and  backyard flocks in multiple states. The latest bird flu outbreaks in  poultry in the United States are available from the U.S. Department of  Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
  • Preliminary genetic sequence data from some of the  H5N1 bird flu viruses obtained from infected poultry suggests they belong to clade 2.3.4.4b, like most of the viruses recently detected in wild birds in the United States.

What CDC Is Doing to Respond to Bird Flu Outbreaks

  • CDC is working closely with USDA to monitor the  current H5N1 bird flu situation in wild birds and poultry, dairy cows,  and sporadic infections in other mammals, and will provide updates as  information is available.
  • CDC is the lead agency for human health.
  • The U.S. Department of Interior and USDA are the  lead federal departments for outbreak investigation and control in wild  birds and agriculture.
  • USDA APHIS is the lead agency for such activities in domestic birds and agricultural livestock.
  • The risk to the general public from H5N1 bird flu is currently low.

Bio-Security for Livestock Facilities

Let us introduce a Bio-Security setup to ensure better results in production and a safe workplace for humans and animals.

We will set up a permanent system for treating drinking water. Control fungal and viral infections,  as well as improve performance in poultry production.

We produced more eggs… better hatching rates…

Hydrolyte™ EL formula is a safe, powerful Biocide that kills 99.9% of known bacteria and is harmless to birds, animals, humans, and the environment.

It contains hypochlorous acid, a naturally occurring chemical that is part of the human immune system. It kills the bacteria commonly found in bird drinking water (E coli, Campylobacter,  Pseudomonas, Salmonella, Streptococcus, and Staphylococcus), as well as viruses (avian influenza, infectious bronchitis and rotavirus).

It also prevents slime and biofilm in drinking equipment, and retards  the formation of limescale. To use it in drinking water, add 8oz to 1gal  of Hydrolyte to fresh tap water. Tap water is often contaminated by the time the birds drink it. However, treating it ensures that it stays clean and doesn’t become a source of infection for the birds.

It can also be used to sanitize equipment, such as drinkers, feeders, cages and any other equipment as normal,
